Born Healthy

A lot of us are born healthy. But a lot of us also may lose that right away. Our bodies react to what we eat and are very clever and NOTHING goes unnoticed. It may not show up immediately, but if you feed your body with food it does not like or need, eventually you will get signals.

The big picture is as simple as this. We get sick because of nutritional deficiency.  Getting sick or having an illness are just the symptoms to show us that we may be lacking in some nutrients which lower our immune system and makes our body vulnerable to diseases. If we replenish these nutrients in time, the symptoms usually disappear. If not, we can lower the function of our immune system causing further problems.

As long as the cells are fed with nutrients that it needs to accomplish its growth, repair, cleansing, regeneration and more, you are healthy. If it is missing something, or contains significant levels of destructive or interfering agents – like the free radicals and the chemical toxins – your health suffers.

In order for these cells to function properly each cell must be protected from damage as much as possible. If your body doesn’t receive proper nutrition and building materials, it will produce bad, dysfunctional cells.

Your body knows what it needs better than any doctor. The body heals itself and nutrition is necessary to accomplish this. When this happens, this is not a drug effect, it is normal composition, in other words the biochemistry of the body is being changed nutritionally and because of this we are not claiming that nutritional products treat, cure, or mitigate disease.

Cellular Level Wellness

Do you know what we are made of?

The human body is compose of trillions of cells. Cells are the fundamental unit of life, composed of billions of molecules. Cells are small compartments that hold the biological equipment necessary to keep an organism alive and successful. They provide structure for the body, take in nutrients from food, convert those nutrients into energy and carry out specialized functions.

Cells are like little factories inside your body, each assigned to do specific function to give us the gift of life. Not all cells look the same.

White blood cells help fight infections and heal wounds
The red blood cells are specifically designed to carry oxygen from the lungs to the tissues in the body

Cells come in thousands of different shapes and sizes, individually has its own task for the benefit of the body.
For instance:

Every second, millions of your cells die, and need to be replaced with new ones. Our bodies are producing new cells 24 hours per day. Old cells die and new cells are formed all the time. Most cells are constantly growing and dividing. Mitosis is the process of cell division. This is controlled by the cell cycle, which allows a cell to grow, duplicate its DNA and divide.  While young, your body is creating more cells than it loses; as you age, this gradually turns around.

Necrosis occurs when a cell is damaged by an external force, chemotherapy, a bodily injury, an infection or getting cut off from the blood supply (which might occur during a heart attack or stroke).

Apoptosis, on the other hand, is when a cell will self-destruct. It’s sometimes referred to as programmed cell death. In neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease, apoptosis is thought to account for much of the cell death and progressive loss of neurons.

A cell’s inability to undergo apoptosis can result in the development of cancer. Cancer is just really  a by-product of a broken or dysfunctional cell that keeps on replicating itself.

Everything from reproduction to infections to repairing a broken bone happens down at the cellular level. In order for these cells to function properly each cell must be protected from damage as much as possible.

Disease and its symptoms exist first at the cellular level.  The cellular level is the level of cells, the most basic structural unit of the human body. It is essential that a cell is able to respond to its environment and communicate with surrounding cells to regulate both its own activities and the actions of its neighbor.

If your body doesn’t receive proper nutrition and building materials, it will produce bad, dysfunctional cells, deficient in the basic ingredients that constitute a healthy cell. Providing your body with proper nutrition plays an important role in nourishing overall health. In addition, certain nutrients also protect your cells from damage, and nutrients from food support your body’s energy production machinery.

Winning the War not just the Battle

There are many diseases and conditions – Cancers, high blood pressure, asthma, diabetes, obesity, etc. Most people and their doctors / physicians turn to one or many medications to treat these diseases and conditions. Usually, these remedies are aimed at lessening or controlling the symptom(s) and not the cause. For example, with high blood pressure and diabetes, when medicine is quickly prescribed while the dietary or lifestyle root causes of the condition are often not fully addressed. This is fighting the battle and losing the war.

In this blog you will get a pointer of the gap between the conventional medical system and the contradictory alternatives of “Let thy food be thy medicine.” We will introduce you to the common sense concepts of “one disease, one medicine,” and “food as medicine.” The information you will get in these next pages will allow you with greater control over your health so that you may begin winning the war, not just the battle.

Research and Studies

Spirulina is considered by many medical doctors, scientists, and nutrition experts to be one of the world’s most powerful superfood. It is gaining more attention from medical scientists as a nutraceutical food and source of potential pharmaceuticals. There are several new noble reviewed scientific studies about spirulina’s ability to hinder viral replication, strengthen both the cellular and humoral arms of the immune system and cause regression and inhibition of cancers.

It took modern man 50 years of research to rediscover and reveal spirulina as the most nutritious food on the planet. Millions of people worldwide eat spirulina cultivated in scientifically designed algae farms. Current world production of spirulina for human consumption is more than 1,000 metric tons annually. The United States leads world production followed by Thailand, India and China.  Aztec Foodgrowers Corp. is the pioneer Filipino producer of spirulina here in the Philippines. More countries are planning production as they realize it is a valuable strategic resource.

Today Spirulina is being used as a therapeutic agent because of its antioxidant, anticancer properties, and its ability to strengthen the immune system. Spirulina has properties known to lower blood sugar levels in diabetics, have beneficial effects on patients suffering from pancreatitis, hepatitis, and cirrhosis. Helpful in glaucoma, cataracts, and night blindness. It has high contents of essential fatty acids, thus making it an effective ingredient for heart and liver protection.

Scientific studies also have indicated that Spirulina has got anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antimicrobial, and anti-stress properties and helps in the treatments of asthma, arthritis, etc. Recent studies have indicated that Spirulina has a property of reducing heavy metals and nephrotoxic substance from the body. Studies confirm that this property is due to its combination and amazing concentration of nutrients.
